On 25 November 2009, F/V "NEWFOUNDLAND PEARL" with 5 POB was reported on fire 172 NM East of Cape Spear, N.L. Crew safely abandoned vessel into a liferaft and picked up by a nearby f/v. Crew was then transfered to a CCGS for transport back to port.
