On 29 September 2016, the tug "THUNDER IX", with 3 people on board and towing the crane barge "LADY MACK", lost its tow when the tow line parted 3 nautical mile NW of Cape Scott, BC. A crew member boarded the barge and connected an emergency towing rope to successfully recover the barge. . Damage to the vessel was indicated as TOTAL LOSS
