The vessel, with 26 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were 0 injuries and fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

After raising her anchor and manoeuvring to depart the harbour the stern of the vessel grounded on the side of the channel. The vessel was refloated with tugs and is undergoing an underwater survey to assess damage (none apparent so far).. Damage to the vessel was indicated as NONE APPARENT

Weather at the time was reported as fog with winds from the NE at 2.00 knots. This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 1/20/1997 .
