On 14 July 2012, while on a harbour cruise, the passenger ferry "CAPT. MATTHEW FLINDERS" extinguished a small fire on the carpet in the dining area caused by a knocked over sterno can. Passengers were evacuated. No injuries or pollution reported.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as MINOR
