On 9/23/1996 , the vessel 3 J'S '93 (THE) (Official Number 815514) was involved in a capsizes in CLOSE INSHORE EAST OF NORTH CAPE, P.E.I.,.

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was minor pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/3/1996 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the NE at 30.00 knots.

While returning to her home port of Tignish and transiting the shallow waters off North Cape in following rough and confused seas, the fishing vessel "3J'S '93(THE)", which was laden with fish, capsized. One crew member reached the shore but the other drowned. The vessel drifted ashore, was later recovered and subsequently was declared a constructive total loss.
