On 1/22/1997 , the vessel TIGNISH SEA (Official Number 814339) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in OFF COAST OF BELIZE, GULF OF HONDURAS.,.

The vessel, with 10 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 1/24/1997 . Weather at the time was reported as clear.

Tug/Supply vessel experienced a total blackout and drifted underneath and struck the semi-submersible drill rig "SONAT D-F 97". Damage limited to scraped paint to tug and 8"x 1" dent on rig.
