On 1/22/1997 , the vessel TIGNISH SEA (Official Number 814339) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in OFF COAST OF BELIZE, GULF OF HONDURAS.,.

The vessel, with 10 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were 0 injuries and fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

Tug/Supply vessel experienced a total blackout and drifted underneath and struck the semi-submersible drill rig "SONAT D-F 97". Damage limited to scraped paint to tug and 8"x 1" dent on rig.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as MINOR
