On 11/13/2007, the vessel BIG SISTER (Official Number 812731) was involved in a capsizes in THE WOLVES, BAY OF FUNDY, NB, NEW BRUNSWICK (NB).
The vessel, with 4 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 11/16/2007. Weather at the time was reported as overcast with winds from the SW at 20.00 knots.
On the morning of 13 November 2007, at 0605 Atlantic standard time, the small fishing vessel Big Sister, with the owner and three crew members on board, departed Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick, laden with lobster traps. After being underway for about 45 minutes, the crew began to set the traps, at which point they noticed water on deck. The vessel capsized shortly thereafter. The three crew members were rescued by another fishing vessel. The body of the owner was recovered later.
