On 7/11/1997 , the vessel MACEY'S PRIDE (Official Number 803717) was involved in a sank - flooding in 21 MILES NW OF COW HEAD, NFLD.,.

The vessel, with 4 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 8/14/1997 . Weather at the time was reported as with winds from the SW at 25.00 knots.

F/V reported taking water in engine room and cuddy. Two pumps are unable to cope with ingress. Attempts to lighten vessel by jettison of fishing gear. Crew abandoned into liferaft and rescued by "Northern Swan".Vessel presumed sunk.
