The "JADE FOREST" was en route from Harmac, a loading berth south of Nanaimo, B.C., to Chemainus, B.C., under the conduct of a B.C. Coast pilot when the vessel ran aground approximately three cables south-south-east of Snake Island. The vessel sustained extensive damage to her bottom shell plating. Neither injury nor pollution was reported as a result of this occurrence. The vessel was refloated four and a half hours later, on the rising tide. . Damage to the vessel was indicated as HOLED
