The vessel, with 6 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 5/8/1998 7. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the SW at knots.
A collision occurred between the fishing vessels, FREDERIC C and NICOLE CLAUDE which subsequently sank. The crew of NICOLE CLAUDE embarked on the FREDERIC C which sustained hull damage but was able to proceed to Grande Riviere.
