On 1/13/1998 , the vessel RED FIR NO. 10 (Official Number 179091) was involved in a sank - flooding in TROUP PASSAGE, NE SIDE OF LANG ISLAND, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was minor pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 2/6/1998 2. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the NE at 10.00 knots.

Tug took on water aft, pumps activated but unable to keep up with ingress. Vessel sank quickly. 2 POB recovered, and taken to hospital. Cause unknown.
