On 1/13/1998 , the vessel RED FIR NO. 10 (Official Number 179091) was involved in a sank - flooding in TROUP PASSAGE, NE SIDE OF LANG ISLAND, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were 2 injuries but no fatalities were reported, and there was minor pollution.

Tug took on water aft, pumps activated but unable to keep up with ingress. Vessel sank quickly. 2 POB recovered, and taken to hospital. Cause unknown.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as TOTAL LOSS
