On 4/14/2020 , the vessel JOHANNA G (Official Number 1584) was involved in a intentional beaching/grounding/anchoring to avoid occurrence in Welland Canal, Thorold, ON, ONTARIO (ON).

The vessel, with 22 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 14 April 2020, the upbound bulk carrier "JOHANNA G" collided port-to-port with the moored downbound bulk carriers "FEDERAL CHURCHILL" and "JOHN D. LEITCH" whilst exiting the Welland Canal's Lock No.7 in Thorold, ON. The vessel dropped both anchors and sustained damage to some of its fairleads.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as UNKNOWN
