On 7/14/2005 , the vessel OLYMPIC MERIT (Official Number 9819) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in LOWER APPROACH WALL - BEAUHARNOIS, QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 24 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 7/14/2005 . Weather at the time was reported as rain with winds from the NW at 25.00 knots.

On 14 July 2005, the vessel Olympic Merit struck the approach wall below Beauharnois lock.
