On 7/22/2001 , the vessel CARIBIC STAR (Official Number 9304) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in ABOVE LOCK 7, WELLAND CANAL, ONTARIO (ON).

The vessel, with 100 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were 0 injuries and fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.

On 22 July 2001, with a pilot aboard while making the approach wall above Lock 7, Welland Canal, the passenger vessel "ARCADIA" at 1805 struck the wall with her starboard propeller causing damage. The vessel was inspected and divers assessed damage.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as MAJOR

Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the W at 5.00 knots. This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/10/2001.
