On 10/11/2002, the vessel MSC CANADA (Official Number 9232759) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in PORT OF SOREL, ST.LAWRENCE RIVER, QUE., QUEBEC (QC).
The vessel, with 20 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

As a result of sustaining a steering gear failure, the container ship MSC CANADA ran aground. Shortly thereafter, the vessel was refloated. Initial survey found no apparent damage to the hull.
