On 3/1/2001 1, the vessel OINOUSSIAN FATHER (Official Number 9189) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in PIONEER DOCK, VANCOUVER, BC, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 17 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/10/2001. Weather at the time was reported as rain with winds from the S at 6.00 knots.
Bulk Carrier "OINOUSSIAN FATHER" struck dock with Pilot on board. Damage to concrete pier on the top portion. Some damage to vessel. Dent approx 10mtrs. long with an inset of 25cm at it's deepest area.
