On 9/26/2016 , the vessel SMIT SABA (Official Number 838549) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in Fairview Terminal, Prince Rupert, BC., BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/20/2016. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the S at 5.00 knots.

On 26 September 2016, the tug "SMIT SABA", with 2 people on board, assisted the container vessel "MAERSK SARNIA" docking at Prince Rupert, BC. On completion of the operation, the tug struck the moored container ship when it was released.
