On 3/14/2015 , the vessel LASQUETI DAUGHTERS (Official Number 836938) was involved in a sank - founders (taking on water above the waterline) in Sutil Point, Cortes Island, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was minor pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 3/14/2015 . Weather at the time was reported as overcast with winds from the NW at knots.
On 14 March 2015, the self-propelled barge "LASQUETI DAUGHTERS", with 17 people on board, took on water and sank in Georgia Strait, BC. The passengers and crew were evacuated. The vessel was salvaged and towed to Campbell River, BC.
