On 8/15/2015 , the vessel HAVELSTERN (Official Number 835905) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in Pangnirtung, NU, NUNAVUT (NU).
The vessel, with 20 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
On 15 August 2015, the products/chemical tanker "HAVELSTERN" sustained a failure of its starboard windlass and consequently lost its starboard anchor 1.5 nautical miles NNE of Pangnirtung, NU after ice caused the vessel to drag his anchor,. The crew salvaged the anchor 2 days later and resumed its operations.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as MINOR
