On 27 September 2016, the crane barge "RUSKIN CHARLIE CONSTRUCTOR" struck the overhead power cables at Dodd Narrows near Gabriola Island, BC. At the time of the incident, the tug "PEGGY MCKENZIE", with two people on board, was towing the crane barge and the barge "DELTA 217" in tandem. The power cables snapped and fell into the water. There was minor damage reported to the crane.
