On 7/17/2012 , the vessel NORTHERN EXPEDITION (Official Number 833401) was involved in a risk of striking (near allision) - risk of allision with a fixed object (striking - includes vessels) in PRINCE RUPERT HARBOUR, BC, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 51 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 17 July 2012, the F/V "SHARON LYNN" came into contact with the freighter "HANJIN GENEVA" and then had close quarters situation with the "SMIT MISSISSIPPI" and BCFS "NORTHERN EXPEDITION" at the entrance to Prince Rupert Harbour, B.C.
