On 7/21/2008 , the vessel COASTAL INSPIRATION (Official Number 832381) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in DUKE POINT FERRY TERMINAL, B.C., BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 34 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 21 July 2008, the ferry "COASTAL INSPIRATION" experienced an electrical blackout while alongside the Duke Point Terminal, B.C. Power was soon restored.
