On 4/19/2005 , the vessel SEASPAN TEMPEST (Official Number 825124) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in FRASER RIVER AT MISSION, B.C., BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 5/19/2005 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the SE at 4.00 knots.
On 19 April 2005, the tug "SEASPAN TEMPEST" berthed alongside the tug "SEA IMP XIX". The hull of the "SEA IMP XIX" was holed by a steel "ear" protruding from the dock and sank. The "SEA IMP XV", secured to the same dock, was also pulled down.
