On 10/22/2002, the vessel AVALON VOYAGER II (Official Number 823787) was involved in a risk of sinking in 130 NM NE CAPE FREELS, NFLD., NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR (NL).

The vessel, with 6 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

F/V reported taking on water. Four pumps dropped from aircraft. Two persons picked up by Helicopter. The crew located the cause of the leak as being a broken pipe. The pipe was fixed and vessel towed toward Catalina, Nfld.
