On 13 January 2021, the empty barges "SEASPAN 310", "SEASPAN 510", "SEASPAN 524", "SEASPAN 546", "SEASPAN 561", and "SEASPAN 498" were reported adrift near Port Mellon, BC, after their mooring lines parted. The barges had been moored to one another using scow lines and they broke free from the tie up due to heavy weather. Three assist tugs from the company retrieved all the barges. The company is assessing damages.
