On 6/18/2002 , the vessel TRAVERSE (Official Number 821185) was involved in a bottom contact in LAKE OF THE WOODS, NEAR BIG TRAVERSE BAY, ONTARIO (ON).

The vessel, with 3 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 7/24/2002 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the N at 20.00 knots.

On 18 June 2002, while approaching a buoy in Lake Of The Woods, the gov't auxiliary self propelled barge"TRAVERSE" struck bottom near Big Traverse Bay damaging the starboard propeller. The prop was changed and vessel proceeded.
