On 6/22/2018 , the vessel CHALLENGER TRAVELLER (Official Number 820789) was involved in a fire in St. John's, NL, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR (NL).

The vessel, with 4 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was minor pollution.

On 22 June 2018, the fishing vessel "CHALLENGER TRAVELLER", with 4 people on board, reported a fire on board. A Mayday was issued and the crew abandoned the vessel into a life raft. Three vessels headed to the scene and the Canadian Coast Guard vessels "TELEOST" and "CYGNUS" were tasked. The "ATLANTIC BANDIT" recovered the 4 crew members from the life raft and proceeded to St. John's, NL. The "CHALLENGER TRAVELLER", with 20 000 L of diesel fuel on board, was left adrift, with smoke billowing out of the cabin.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as UNKNOWN
