On 22 June 2018, the fishing vessel "CHALLENGER TRAVELLER", with 4 people on board, reported a fire on board. A Mayday was issued and the crew abandoned the vessel into a life raft. Three vessels headed to the scene and the Canadian Coast Guard vessels "TELEOST" and "CYGNUS" were tasked. The "ATLANTIC BANDIT" recovered the 4 crew members from the life raft and proceeded to St. John's, NL. The "CHALLENGER TRAVELLER", with 20 000 L of diesel fuel on board, was left adrift, with smoke billowing out of the cabin.
