On 11/11/1999, the vessel MARIA DESGAGNES (Official Number 820514) was involved in a bottom contact in NR BUOY 122, ST. LAWRENCE SEAWAY,CARDINAL, ONT.,.

The vessel, with 13 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 11/16/1999. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the NE at 2.00 knots.

Reported striking with bottom obstruction near buoy 122, St. Lawrence Seaway, off Cardinal, Ont. Holed in forepeak, 1DB and bow thruster compartment. Proceeded to Prescott for inspection. Channel being swept.
