On 9/21/1996 , the vessel LADY BRITANY (Official Number 816674) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in 15.5 MILES SOUTH-EAST OF SOURIS, PEI.,.
The vessel, with 3 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/17/1996. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the SW at 15.00 knots.
The F/V "LADY BRITANY" struck the anchored F/V "CAPE LIGHT II" approximately 15.5 miles SE of Souris, P.E.I. There were no injuries, and both vessels were escorted safely to port by the "CGC Souris".
