On 4/28/1996 , the vessel ROYAL FISHER (Official Number 812608) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in EDDY PASSAGE, CHATHAM SOUND, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 3 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 7/25/1996 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the SE at 5.00 knots.

Vessel sustained minor damage when grounded on reef at Useless Point in Eddy Passage. Crew pumped out some of the ballast & freed the vessel & proceeded towards Prince Rupert. CCGS "POINT HENRY" met & escorted vessel to port.
