On 8/18/2003 , the vessel BLACK DUCK I (Official Number 811701) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in 3.7 NM SSW OF WOODS HARBOUR, NOVA SCOTIA,.

The vessel, with 3 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/6/2003 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the NE at 15.00 knots.

The F/V "BLACK DUCK 1" was reported to have run aground on Outer Island, Woods Harbour. Vessel was subsequently refloated with the assistance of the CCGC Clarks Harbour. No injuries or damage reported.
