The vessel, with 3 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were 0 injuries and fatalities were reported, and there was unknown pollution.

On October 21,1999 the F/V "DOUBLE DOLPHIN" was reported sunk. All three crew members abandoned the vessel into liferafts (both inflatable and an Ovatek 4) and were recovered by the Oceanographic research vessel "ENDEAVOUR".. Damage to the vessel was indicated as TOTAL LOSS
