On 5/21/2011 , the vessel L'ECHO DES MERS I (Official Number 809289) was involved in a person seriously injured or killed - boarding, being on board, falling overboard from the ship in CAP DE L'HOPITAL, ILES DE LA MADELEINE,QC, QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. There were No injuries but 1 fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.

On 21 May 2011, off L'Etang du Nord, Les Iles de la Madeleine, a fisherman aboard "L'ECHO DES MERS I" drowned after he was pulled overboard with the lobster traps that he was setting. The body was recovered by the FV "Sherri Nicole".. Damage to the vessel was indicated as
