On 9/12/2005 , the vessel MELINA & KEITH II (Official Number 809085) was involved in a capsizes in 70NM EAST OF CAPE BONA VISTA, NFLD, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR (NL).

The vessel, with 7 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was unknown pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 9/13/2005 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the NE at 15.00 knots.

On the afternoon of 12 September 2005, the small fishing vessel Melina & Keith II, with eight persons on board, was hauling nets off Funk Island Bank, Newfoundland and Labrador. The vessel took on water through the side fishing door and subsequently capsized in approximate position 48º55.5' N, 051º17.5' W. Four persons were rescued and the body of a deceased crew member was recovered; three crew members are missing and presumed drowned.
