On 06 February 2018, the fishing vessel "FISHERMANS PROVIDER II", with 4 people on board, grounded on Frying Pan Shoal while transiting to Canso harbor, NS. Three crewmembers were rescued by the Canadian Coast Guard auxiliary vessel "MISS LEXI". The master refused to abandon the vessel and eventually perished.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as CONSTRUCTIVE TOTAL LOSS
