The Search and Rescue response was initiated, and the vessel was located, anchored in Namu Harbour, BC by the fast rescue craft of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship "SIR WILFRED GRENFELL". The "SHILLELAGH" reported having sustained a total loss of its electrical power, that caused a loss of propulsion and rendered the radio unserviceable. The crew advised of their intention to remain anchored until the batteries could be recharged.
