On 5/10/1997 , the vessel LEGEND OF THE SEAS (Official Number 8000504) was involved in a person seriously injured or killed - in contact with any part of the ship or its contents in OFF KUHUSHAN POINT, STRAIT OF GEORGIA, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 730 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 7/4/1997 8. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the N at 2.00 knots.

Crewmember aboard cruise ship "LEGEND OF THE SEAS" severed finger. Patient transferred to Comox hospital for treatment.
