On 4/11/2000 , the vessel MILLENIUM YAMA (Official Number 720494) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in 12-13 NM OFF GODBOUT (BAIE COMEAU), QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 18 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 4/12/2000 . Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the W at 6.00 knots.

On 11 April 2000, the Millenium Yama was inbound on the St. Lawrence River. Off Godbout, Quebec, the vessel sustained a major main engine failure. Sudden stoppage of the engine caused a small fire, which was quickly put out, but the main engine could not be restarted. That evening, the vessel was towed to Baie-Comeau, Quebec, by the tug Pointe Comeau. Two days later, the vessel was towed to the port of Québec for repair.
