On 12/4/1996 , the vessel AMBER (Official Number 708830) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in PRINCE RUPERT HARBOUR, OFF DOUGLAS POINT, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 30 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 12/16/1996. Weather at the time was reported as rain with winds from the NW at 55.00 knots.

Vessel dragged anchors in bad weather, master called for pilot & attempting to re-anchor with aid of 1 tug when vessel grounded off Douglas Point. An additional tug used & vessel freed and anchored safely.
