On 1/25/2016 , the vessel FEDERAL DANUBE (Official Number 5613) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in Rivière-au-Renard, QC, QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 22 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 25 January 2016, the bulk carrier "FEDERAL DANUBE" reported the failure of its main engine unit #3 during harsh sea conditions. The vessel is currently proceeding with limited propulsive power towards Baie-Comeau, QC in order to carry out the repairs.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as MINOR
