On 10/3/2016 , the vessel NORD SHANGHAI (Official Number 396930) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in At Bécancour, QC, QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 22 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 03 October 2016, the bulk carrier "NORD SHANGHAI" sustained a main engine failure while departing the Port of Bécancour, QC. The vessel returned back to the pier for repairs.. Damage to the vessel was indicated as UNKNOWN
