On 9/12/1997 , the vessel ANDY L AND SISTERS (Official Number 392262) was involved in a fire in 6.9 MILES EAST OF NEW HAVEN, N.S.,.

The vessel, with 2 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.

Gasoline deck engine ignited into ball of fire whilst hauling in line. Vessel engulfed in flames. Crew abandoned into their liferaft and were rescued by the f/v "Cathy Arlene". Unable to retrieve life jackets from cuddy. The vessel sank at 121451Z.
