On 10/21/2000, the vessel J. D. MITCHELL (Official Number 355811) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in CAP LEVRARD, OFF BUOY D-49, BATISCAN, QUE., QUEBEC (QC).
The vessel, with 21 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 10/23/2000. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the SW at 16.00 knots.
On 21 October at 0446 the vessel "J D MITCHELL" experience a black out and shortly after went aground off buoy D-49. Vessel refloated around 1530. Proceeded to Qbc for underwater inspection. Hull found ok.
