On 11/3/2006 , the vessel HBC 1000 (Official Number 313880) was involved in a sank - founders (taking on water above the waterline) in JAMES BAY, NUNAVUT, NUNAVUT (NU).

On 3 November 2006, while in high winds and rough seas, the barge HBC 1000 under tow by tug Nelson River took on water and lost deck cargo. Lost cargo included building materials, vehicles and a front end loader. Barge sank the following day.
