On 6/10/2000 , the vessel BEAVER (Official Number 240506) was involved in a total failure of any machinery or technical system in STRAIT OF GEORGIA, BC, BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 34 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

V/l's steering wheel became progressively harder to turn till it became locked. Disconnecting of hydraulics and linkages showed rudders and tillers to be free. Towed into Stevston Harbour. V/l had similar problem before - departing Seattle.
