On 6/24/2013 , the vessel SUPERIOR EXPLORER (Official Number 197588) was involved in a grounding - under power (non-intentional) in THUNDER BAY, ON, ONTARIO (ON).

The vessel, with 4 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

On 24 June 2013, the research F/V "SUPERIOR EXPLORER" while sampling fish, ran aground north of Welcome Islands off Thunder Bay, Ontario. The vessel was towed back to Thunder bay. No damage, injuries or pollution reported.
