On 11/16/2003, the vessel CAPE DARNLEY (Official Number 1804) was involved in a person seriously injured or killed - in contact with any part of the ship or its contents in FRASER SURREY DOCK, NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C., BRITISH COLUMBIA (BC).
The vessel, with 21 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.
This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 11/18/2003. Weather at the time was reported as rain with winds from the SSW at knots.
On 16 November, 2003, the Marshall Islands reg. V/L "CAPE DARNLEY" alongside at Fraser Surrey Dock, discharging 20 ft. containers, inadvertantly lifted a 2nd container when the locking device failed. The container fell on deck injuring 2 stevedores.
