On 11/13/2007, the vessel YAMASKA (Official Number 13217) was involved in a bottom contact in OFF GRONDINES, QC, NEAR BUOY D9, QUEBEC (QC).

The vessel, with 24 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was none pollution.

This incident was officially recorded by Transport Canada on 11/15/2007. Weather at the time was reported as clear with winds from the W at 20.00 knots.

The downbound loaded vessel "YAMASKA" made contact with the bottom, off Grondines, Quebec , near buoy D9 after a gyro failure. As a result, presence of water was observed in the water ballast tank no 2 starboard, no pollution reported.
