On 4/19/1989 , the vessel JAPAN ALLIANCE (Official Number 126767) was involved in a striking - allision with a fixed object (striking - includes berthed/docked vessels) in BERTH #4, VANTERM, VANCOUVER HARBOUR, B.C.,.

The vessel, with 21 persons on board, experienced the incident while engaged in regular operations. Fortunately, the ship was able to continue its voyage. No injuries or fatalities were reported, and there was pollution.
